Where It All Began
VitaGene was founded in 2017 as a way to seamlessly provide customers access to all the professional grade health and skincare products they need, in one place.
We launched VitaScript in 2020, the first virtual dispensary for health and skincare practitioners in South Africa. This platform integrates with VitaGene so that customers can easily order the products scripted by their practitioner.
Our Founder’s Journey
“After practicing as a clinical dietitian for over 25 years, I grew increasingly frustrated with inconsistent patient outcomes and began questioning the efficacy of standard dietary approaches. Curious about the varying responses among my patients to cholesterol-lowering diets, I cautiously introduced vitamin and mineral supplements, despite their unconventional use in our field. Little did I know, this marked the beginning of a transformative journey.
Seeking more personalised solutions, I delved into Nutrigenomics more than a decade ago, driven by the need for genetic insights that could tailor dietary interventions more precisely. Recognising the need for further expertise, I pursued accreditations as a DNAlysis and 3X4 practitioner, and completed advanced training in Manuka Science's Translational Nutrigenomics, solidifying my commitment to personalised nutrition solutions. This pursuit led me to specialise in sourcing high-quality supplements, a daunting task that mirrored the confusion many patients faced. Sharing this knowledge with you to improve your health is both my mission and passion.
