PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

An exclusive fluid dispersion of Phosphatidylserine which has been clinically shown to support cognitive functions.

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a fat-soluble phospholipid that occurs endogenously in humans. It is the most abundant phospholipid in the human brain and is important in neuronal membrane functions such as maintenance of the cell’s internal environment, signal transduction, secretory vesicle release, cell-to-cell communication, and cell growth regulation.

PS is also a component of the mitochondrial membrane, where it might function as a metabolic reservoir for other phospholipids. Although the body is able to synthesize PS through an elaborate series of reactions and substantial energy expenditure, it obtains most of it from dietary sources.

PS is present in small quantities in foods and therefore supplementation is necessary especially in age-related cognitive decline and dietary deficiencies.

The PS in Medford’s Cogni-Serine Smart PS™ is derived from soy. Most of the clinical research has utilized either soybean-derived or bovine-sourced phosphatidylserine.

The phosphatidylserine stability issue

RECOMMENDED USAGE

Take one softgel two to three times per day, with meals or as prescribed by your healthcare professional.

It is recommended that PS be taken with meals. PS should not be taken immediately prior to going to bed as it may delay the onset of sleep – Unless there is a spike in cortisol levels at night, which affects sleep.
