Mode of action:
Black cohosh extract (cimicifuga racemosa) is a very popular herb well known to alleviate many of the symptoms of female menopause due to the 27-deoxyacteine content of black cohosh. 27-deoxyacteine is believed to mimic the actions of estriol – the most beneficial of the estrogens.
Gamma oryzanol may minimise hot flushes and regulate the body’s prolactin production. Gamma oryzanol possesses antioxidant properties and may support healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Ipriflavone assists in inhibiting bone resorption and stimulates osteoblasts to produce new bone. The chemical structure of ipriflavone resembles that of estrogens, however it exerts estrogenic effects only on bones.
Tribulus terrestris alleviates many of the symptoms of the female menopause and may improve sexual desire. Tribulus terrestris may improve mood, energy and stamina.
Mexican wild yam root powder assists in regulating the female endocrine system. Mexican wild yam root powder possesses antioxidant properties and may lower elevated triglyceride levels. Mexican wild yam is also a good antispasmodic and therefore can be used to support poor circulation and neural neuralgia.
Muira puama wood powder may improve sexual desire and performance. It is proposed that the mechanism of action is to increase blood flow to the pelvic area, aiding in orgasm in women.
Muira puama also may have adaptogenic properties and can be used to support the nervous system and for treating mild cases of exhaustion.
Vitamin B6 supports a healthy nervous system.
Vitamin B6 may also help with estrogen metabolism by helping to reduce tissue hypersensitivity to estrogen.
