PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

D3 1000™ by Metagenics features high potency vitamin D3, the most bioactive form of supplemental vitamin D. Vitamin D is important for maintaining healthy bone strength and immune function.

RECOMMENDED USAGE

Chew or swallow one tablet daily with food or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

Am not too sure of its effects since the supply got finished quickly and did not experience it solely. Was prescribed to me with other medications, and had to take together.

Dear Moherane - please confirm with your practitioner how long you should be taking vitamin D3 1000IU for. It is usually scripted for longer than a month.

The quality is good, but . . .

Metagenics have become extremely expensive.

I have been using the old version since August 16, 2018.
When I started using these, it brought my D3 levels back in 3 months, but that was the 5000 IUs.

Last order price for me was R238.50 (July 2021) for 5000 IUs and 120 tablets.
It is now R205 and only 1000 IUs and just 60 tabs - 1000 IUs is just not enough.

So this new version will last me 12 days if I still want 5 000 IUs, and some days I drink 10 000IUs.

To put it in perspective, the old version's container combined IU was 600 000.
The new version's container combined IU is 60 000

Hi Melindie - thank you for your review. According to SAHPRA guidelines vitamin D3 5000IU is only available via Dr prescription - We have discontinued all D3 over 1000IU because of the new regulations. Metagenics also had a price increase on 1 May 2023. An alternative would be to try the Metagenics D3 liquid (20ml). Each drop contains 1000 IU. Each drop is 0.026ml, therefore providing approx. 769 drops per bottle. This may be a better option for you. It is always best to consult with your healthcare practitioner when taking high doses of vitamin D.

The sunshine vitamin - D3

When a recent blood test showed lower than optimal levels of Vit D, I decided to supplement with D3 1000 aiding my system until such time as our summer arrives. Feeling less SAD already. Great product.
